Dear Friends, At SVM, Success is a Team Sport." The impact of Smart Village Movement’s Triple Helix model on economic development is now fairly evident in rural India. We bring together research insights from Universities, Government support and funding, and the business expertise of Corporations to facilitate and implement smart solutions for rural challenges. Throughout it all, we keep the needs and aspirations of the village communities front and center. This approach transforms village economies by solving complex problems, drives innovation, and spurs growth. It's more sustainable than welfare and charity schemes as it enables the community to learn, explore opportunities, and gain employment and independence. Explore five ways Open-Innovation is transforming rural India in this month's Blog: 5 Ways Open Innovation is Transforming Rural India. March is Social Work Month! Now is the time to celebrate the social enterprises and NGOs that are making an impact in their communities and on a global scale. This month, we hope you take time to learn more about the many positive contributions of the profession and support and celebrate all the social workers you know. March is National Social Work Month, a time to celebrate and recognize the critical role that social workers play in improving the lives of individuals, families, and communities. At SVM, we want to take this opportunity to give a special shoutout to our ground team, especially the block coordinators and interns joining us from prestigious colleges to do field surveys. These surveys provide us with valuable data that is used by our Vertical Leads in Meghalaya and UC Berkeley team to conduct impact studies, which help us to better understand the challenges faced by the communities we serve and develop effective strategies to address them. We are grateful for the hard work and dedication of our ground team, and we are committed to supporting them in their important work. |

5 Ways Open-Innovation is Transforming Rural India
Open-Innovation is a term coined by Prof. Henry Chesbrough, an Innovation thought leader and Faculty Director at the Garwood Center for Corporate Innovation at UC Berkeley Haas. The term refers to the practice of collaborating with external parties to generate and implement new ideas, products, and services. Today, useful knowledge is widely distributed thanks to the connectivity provided by the internet and no company, no matter how big, can maximize the potential of innovation entirely on its own. |
