SVM at Berkeley Innovation Forum 2022
|
It was another exceptional BIF! This year Berkeley Innovation Forum Spring 2022 was at Disneyland from 19th-22nd April; another warm and wonderful reunion of friends from some of Smart Village Movement’s corporate network, faculty from the University of California, Berkeley Haas School of Business, and exciting visits to NASA JPL and SpaceX. It was a delight for our Executive Chairman Dr. Anil Shah to have spent time with SVM’s esteemed Government officials from Meghalaya, India – Honorable Chief Minister Mr. Conrad Sangma and Principal Secretary, Government of Meghalaya Mr. Sampath Kumar, IAS who are instrumental in supporting Smart Village Movement (SVM) pilot projects in rural economic development. Our collaborative model needs visionary leaders like them to bring change to the underserved.

Meeting with External Affairs Minister
|
Our Executive Chairman, Dr. Anil Shah met the honorable Minister of State for External Affairs and Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, Shri V. Muraleedharan who originally hails from Kerala. He presented to him the Smart Village Movement (SVM) sustainable business model at a private event hosted in Orange County, California. India’s rich diversity means we have to adapt to the very different challenges and needs of each state. But the opportunities for entrepreneurship, innovative technology, and skilling provided by SVM are welcomed across the board.

Lakadong Turmeric – The Golden Spice of
Meghalaya From the Kitchens of India to Clinics
around the World

Smart Village Movement in Alliance with Berkeley Haas brings you this important story for two reasons. One is to showcase the superior quality of Turmeric that comes from this region with Curcumin levels of between 7% to 10%. (ordinary varieties of Turmeric only have about 3% Curcumin or less). Second, this is also an important story of a group of women coming together to create a sustainable livelihood for themselves through smart farming. Continue Reading.
