Hello SVM Community, It’s been an inspiring month, and we’re excited to share some key moments with you. First, we’re thrilled to welcome new members Dr. J N Singh and Dr. Malay Mahadevia to our board. They bring fresh perspectives and valuable experience to help us deepen our impact across India. At the 11th National CSR Summit, we had the chance to connect and collaborate with like-minded leaders in Corporate Social Responsibility dedicated to sustainable development, which has already sparked exciting new ideas for the months ahead. We’re also taking a step toward innovative water solutions by piloting an air-to-water technology project to address water scarcity in rural communities. To keep our commitment to quality education going strong, we recently held refresher teacher training sessions with our partner, Madhi Foundation, to boost foundational literacy and numeracy skills for young learners. Thank you for being such an integral part of our journey. Together, we’re building stronger, self-reliant communities every day. Warm regards, We would love to explore opportunities to collaborate and align your organization’s goals with our mission. Our team at the Smart Village Movement was thrilled to attend the 11th India CSR Summit hosted by CSR Box, marking an inspiring two days of engagement with leaders dedicated to social and environmental progress. Our Media & Marketing Lead, Regia Kom, and CSR Manager for India, Virushi Shah, participated in this summit. The event featured impactful panel discussions, offering profound insights into some of the most pressing issues facing our communities. Our team also attended master classes that provided hands-on learning and valuable tools for implementing CSR initiatives. From strategy formulation to community engagement techniques, these sessions were eye-opening, and we look forward to applying these new ideas to deepen our impact. Perhaps one of the highlights of the summit was the networking zone, a dynamic space where organizations showcased remarkable projects and innovative solutions across the social development sector. This opportunity to connect with other like-minded professionals and learn about their work was not only enriching but also a reminder of the incredible collective impact we can achieve when we unite for common goals. As first-time attendees, the summit was an enriching experience, and we are excited to integrate these insights into our initiatives at the Smart Village Movement. |

We’re excited to announce that the Smart Village Movement (SVM) has partnered with Maithri Aquatech to bring their revolutionary Meghdoot air-to-water technology to National Health Mission (NHM) centers in Meghalaya. Meghdoot, meaning “Messenger of the Skies,” stands out with its capability to generate high-quality water, making it an ideal sustainable solution for rural healthcare facilities. We’re thrilled to share that shed construction for two of the sites is now complete, and the machines are scheduled for delivery soon. The next step is to prepare for installation, ensuring that this innovative system will soon be operational and ready to provide essential water resources in these locations. SVM & Madhi Foundation recently held a successful FLN Refresher Training on October 17-18, equipping 101 teachers with essential strategies to enhance foundational literacy and numeracy for Class 1 and 2 students. Through hands-on sessions, teachers gained skills in using the teachers’ handbooks and student workbooks effectively, focusing on comprehension in literacy and foundational concepts in maths. The high engagement from teachers reflects their commitment to FLN’s goals. Follow-up observations will assess the impact of these methods in classrooms, driving meaningful progress in student learning. |

Blog: From Air to Refreshing Water: Innovative Solutions for Clean Drinking Water

Access to clean drinking water remains one of the most pressing global challenges. The World Health Organization states that over 2 billion people lack access to safely managed drinking water services. This issue is particularly acute in rural areas, where infrastructure and resources are often limited. The scarcity of potable water not only affects health but also hampers economic development, education, and overall quality of life. Air-to-Water Technology: A Promising Solution In the face of these challenges, air-to-water technology emerges as a viable solution. Atmospheric Water Generators (AWGs) extract water from humid ambient air. This technology leverages the natural presence of water vapor in the air, condensing it by cooling the air below its dew point. Unlike dehumidifiers, AWGs are specifically designed to render the extracted water potable, making them highly effective in regions where clean drinking water is hard to come by.READ MORE |
