The Challenge

Availability of quality and specialised healthcare services are usually concentrated in urban areas like Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya which calls for people staying in rural parts of the state, to travel far and spend a lot of out-of-pocket money on healthcare. The overcrowding at already impacted urban healthcare centers then results in lower quality of medical help for all.
Also, the Government, in its recent State Health Policy has highlighted the need to establish a proactive ‘health seeking behaviour’ in citizens.

The Smart Village Solution

SVM-Apollo Hospitals to build a network of Digital Dispensaries
within the state of Meghalaya to bring access to specialists and
diagnostic testing services to the rural population.
